Looking back at the various Call of Dutys released on PC, it's clear that Treyarch and Infinity Ward don't know what to do with the PC community. From dedicated servers to mod support, everything changes (mainly for the worse) making it unlikely to anticipate what will be released in the final product.
I am writing this in hope someone from Infinity Ward would read and consider these ideas towards their game. To begin, I would like to start with matchmaking. I obviously want to see dedicated servers (who doesn't?), but I don't want standard matchmaking. I think we all would love for a server browser to be used over the standard matchmaking seen on consoles. This would be perfect if it came with the option to easily create public servers for all, where we are free to install and use anything on them.
That brings me to the next topic of mods. I think many games (From EA & ATVI) have lost the art of modifications. Look at the CoD 4 mods that have brought maps, guns, and modes to many players bored of the original package. What about World at War? It had it's own community with the custom zombie maps millions have played. And MW2, which required mods to have playable multiplayer. Game after game, thousands of people made extra content for YOUR game. Why remove this? I could only imagine what could have been done with Black Ops 2, had it not locked the users to the original version (even removed the console!).
We would also love support. While you (Infinity Ward) did fantastic with MW3's support, we have seen what comes when you neglect the PC version (MW2's unplayable multiplayer). It would be ashame to have an unplayable game, so take care of us.
That's about the lot of it. If there is anything that you feel needs to be considered in the development of Call of Duty: Ghosts for PC please share it so the team at Infinity Ward can see what we would like out of their creation. Thanks for reading this somewhat lenghty post, I hope to see you all online!
