This is a 2-part question (which aint really a question since I dont need an answer - and may be a complete waste of time since I assume I'll get no support for it) but I made the daring decision to buy CoD: Ghosts on Steam and came across 2 huge problems which could seemingly be easily fixed:
1. Is there a way to get a 32-bit version of the game?
Steam downloaded a 64-bit version considering that I have 64 bit Windows OS, but obviously this means the game requires 2 times more RAM to run. It now actually informs me it requires a minimum of 6GB when I have only 4. So on a 32-bit version of the application, I'd only need 3GB and be able to run it at full-spec (sacrificing CPU - no big deal). There must obviously be a 32-bit version, or what would the majority of systems run? I would be interested in knowing if there's a way to get the 32 bit version, as I don't seem to be given the luxury of choosing between such important decisions in Steam myself.
2. Is there a (known) way to support controllers not supported IW's seemingly new control system.
In BO1, BO2, MW2 and probably MW3, XInput, 'the new standard' (as declared by Microsoft of course) in controller input was used. This is only compatible with Xbox360 controllers by default, but can support any controller in the world through an emulator. Unfortunately, in what's possibly a failed attempt to improve upon such limitless controller compatibility in Ghosts, it uses it's own control system which can't be emulated.
So me, and every other person not using a controller which this non-standard controller input was specifically built to support, now cannot play with a joypad (which is the only thing I play games with) for the first time in the Call of Duty series that I've known. A sad day for people who pick the cheapest controller option available (so, like, most of the people) - in case it helps, I'm using a PS2 joypad with a USB converter and I'm crying as I look at all the other games which do use XInput (the standard) then back at my shiny new copy of Ghosts, then down at the keyboard... I then proceed to vomit.
Thank you.
